Mindfulness through daily routines

I’ve read a lot about mindfulness and tried out several different techniques, but the part I always struggle with is remembering to actually do it. So I loved Annika Rose‘s article in In The Moment magazine about how to use daily routines as prompts for short mindfulness breaks or simply being more present in the moment.  My Fitbit allows me to set ‘silent alarms’ so I’m going to try using them to remind me to return my attention to the present.

It’s still the school holidays at the moment and being off work makes it much easier to be mindful.  So the real challenge will be putting this into practice when the new school year starts in September.   But hopefully regular moments of mindfulness will make my days at work less stressful and maybe more enjoyable.
